I think Sigurd is a beautiful name with a gorgeous meaning “victorious guardian”. I love the fascinating history/mythology as well.
Such a great Norse name, it reminds me always of Norway’s ancient and rich culture and history.

As an above commenter pointed out, this name is actually borne by a main character in the video game Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, who journeys across the continent of Jugdral to drive out invasions and, eventually, clear his name of wrongdoing. Also, he has a close association with fire. Just wanted to tease that. :P.
